[Tool] Inside GD

Post by GlockenGerda » Mon May 09, 2016 9:29 am

Here is a little tool I wrote a few weeks ago.
It shows most of Grim Dawn's internal log data in a listview.
These infos could be useful if you are a Grim Dawn modder
(to verify what files weren't found in the database and so on)
or if you just want to know what's going on under the hood.

Windows 7/8/8.1
Grim Dawn v1.0.0.3 (Steam version!)
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 ( ... x?id=42642)
Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 ( ... x?id=48145)

How to install my tool:
1. copy the content of the attached zip file to your Grim Dawn installation folder
(should be "c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Grim Dawn" or something like that)
2. start Steam (if you haven't already)
3. start Grim Dawn in window mode, so you can see the tool's GUI.
(or drag the GUI to your second monitor to watch it)
4. start my tool GDPlus.exe (a console window and a GUI should pop up)

If you decide to start this tool on your computer,
please keep in mind that you'll do it on your own risk!
I'll be not responsible for any damage or lost data!
This tool uses an dll-injection method.
So it could be that your virus scanner makes an false alert!

P.S. I do not recommend the use of the combat logger without a filter set.
Grim Dawn will become very laggy because of the huge amount of data my tool must display in the listview.
(I haven't found a way yet to speed this up)

I hope this tool is somehow useful for you!
